My primary interest and work is in the education of future dietetics practitioners. Prior to becoming director of the DNST Undergraduate Dietetics Program, I lectured in our dietetics courses and for a time served as director of the Dietetic Internship associated with the School of Public Health. I have been recognized as an Outstanding Dietetics Educator by the American Dietetics Association. While this award is an honor, I am most gratified by witnessing the progress of my wonderful students as they learn, mature, and become outstanding young professionals.
For approximately 15 years prior to coming to UCB, I was employed as a full time dietetics practitioner specializing first in pediatric care and later in diabetes care and self management. I continue to be especially passionate about diabetes self management.
I maintain my credentials as a Registered Dietitian (RD) and a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).
