I'm from:
I was born and raised in Boston, MA. I stayed in Boston to receive my bachelor’s degree in Biology from Boston College.
What brought me here:
I have always been interested in the cause and effect relationship between external stimuli, such as environmental stress and nutrition, and the biochemistry of our bodies. The research being conducted at UC Berkeley will provide a unique environment for me to grow as a researcher while studying something I am passionate about. Science aside, I am very excited to live in the Bay Area and the weather of California won’t be too hard to take either.
Current stage in program:
1st year Molecular and Biochemical Nutrition. Lab rotations.
Outside of lab I love:
I love food. I love all aspects of it from cooking to dining out to making up new recipes. I can’t wait to explore the Berkeley farmers market and the fantastic restaurants of San Francisco! Other top favorites are traveling (some of my favorite places to visit are Hawaii, Iceland, and Italy) and spending time with my niece and nephews. .

My research goal is to shed light on the harmful environmental stresses that we expose our bodies to on a daily basis and their role in disease progression. Furthermore, I am interested in showing lifestyle changes that can counteract these diseases.
