Airlia Thompson

I'm from:
I was born in Sin City (a.k.a. Las Vegas, NV) but was raised in Tucson, AZ.
What brought me here:
My decision to come to UC Berkeley, and the MBN program in particular, was based on the following factors…in no particular order.
a) The graduate students appear genuinely happy;
b) The research being done in the NST department is diverse giving us students many research options; c) The professors are calm yet challenging which I think is a winning combination; d) There are frequent grad student happy hours.
Current stage in program:
3rd year MBN. PhD Candidate. Hellerstein Lab.
Outside of lab I love:
to read, play soccer, watch movies, sing, play poker, rent TV shows and binge all night on them, cook and eat.
