I was born in Japan and I spent most of my life in Tokyo. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science in Japan before I came to UC Berkeley.
What brought me here:
I became interested in nutritional science due to the widespread nature and recent attention of metabolic diseases such as obesity and diabetes. I am drawn to UC Berkeley because it provides many opportunities to meet great researchers and interact with energetic students who have a variety of backgrounds. In addition to these opportunities, UC Berkeley also offers a highly supportive environment to study at. I’m so excited to learn and research here!
Outside of lab I love:
Traveling, listening to music, and watching movies.
