About Aparna Krishnamoorthy
I'm from:
Coimbatore, India
What brought me here:
All I heard is ‘admitted to UC Berkeley’ and I had no second thoughts after that.
Outside of lab I love:
A few things I love include blues and swing dancing, exploring the city on the bike, traveling, going to musicals, plays, goofing around and climbing (will be making a serious commitment to that soon—lab work is not death-defying enough, clearly).
Lab:
Robert Ryan

Research Description
I look forward to getting a broader perspective on all aspects central to the dogma of life. My past experience has mostly revolved around the transcriptional processes and I am looking forward to completing the picture with the translational processes and how they affect us through the metabolic cycles. I wish to contribute something significant in medical science and you know, someday, it would be great to win the Nobel Prize for that! :) (My ultimate goals are fairly modest, nothing extreme.)
Education
- Molecular & Biochemical Nutrition, Ph.D. 2017
