Master of Nutritional Sciences & Dietetics students attended the California Academy Advocacy Summit on March 11, 2024.  This event educates dietitians and students about the importance of policy and bills that relate to their practice and the health of Californians.

Alicia Henson, MS, RD, Educational Specialist for the program attended and shared, "the CAND Advocacy Summit provided an enriching experience, offering valuable insights into relationship-building with legislators, in-depth discussions on AB 1975 (Bonta) — Medically Supportive Food and Nutrition Services, and a chance to connect and learn from our dedicated lobbyists. The Summit empowered us with knowledge and motivation to take action!"

The MNSD is also proud to announce, Mary Lesser, PhD, RD, Assistant Adjunct Professor in the MNSD program, was recently elected Vice President of Public Policy for the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for the 2024-2026 term.
