About Lindsay Roberts
I'm from:
Manhattan Beach, CA
What brought me here:
I came to UC Berkeley for my undergraduate education in the Nutritional Sciences department where I earned my B.S. in Nutritional Sciences: Physiology and Metabolism. During my undergrad years I volunteered with Dr. Sharon Fleming on a nutrition intervention program for overweight and obese African-American and Latino children in Oakland. I also joined the Hellerstein lab as a research assistant where I helped graduate students in their projects primarily using stable isotope labeling to measure in vivo rates of biomolecule flux and cell proliferation in models of longevity such as calorie restriction (CR). After graduating, I continued my work in the Hellerstein lab as a lab technician for two years. Between my own experiences in the department and through working closely with current graduate students I knew continuing my research and education at Berkeley was a perfect fit.
Outside of lab I love:
Traveling, crossword puzzles, step aerobics, and watching football
Lab:
Daniel Nomura
