I'm from:

Born and raised in Orange County, CA.

What brought me here:

Spending the summer at a USC pathology lab my junior year of high school convinced me that I wanted to a pursue a career involving biological research. Particularly, I want to expand my knowledge about the mechanisms involved in regulating and preventing human diseases, including those involved in cancer, diabetes and aging. After receiving my B.A. in the Biological Sciences and taking classes in neuroscience and endocrinology at the University of Chicago, I am looking forward to continue learning about the nuances of human and animal pathology by working in the Chen lab. The emphasis on high quality research and education along with a great sense of comradeship at UC Berkeley makes me very fortunate to join such a bright group of people. 

Outside of lab I love:

Cooking, yoga, exploring SF, playing and watching sports (tennis, basketball, swimming, etc), and watching the California sunset.
